The Challenge

A young travel newsletter built its audience on one promise: flight deals readers would never find on their own, from pricing mistakes to flash sales. Finding those deals was the problem. The founder spent hours every day checking booking sites and comparing prices with what a route normally costs. It was slow, it was hit and miss, and it could not keep up with a growing newsletter. Covering more cities meant either hiring people or missing deals.

The Approach

We built a system that keeps an eye on flight prices for more than 50 destinations, each with hundreds of routes. It regularly compares current prices with what those routes usually cost and flags the ones that are clearly cheaper than normal. Then it filters out the fake bargains, such as a low fare with an absurd layover or hidden costs, and ranks what is left by how much a reader saves. The deals that make the cut arrive ready to go into the newsletter.

The Outcome

The newsletter now gets one or two genuine deals per destination every week, at 30 to 80 percent below normal fares. The founder went from hours of searching to reviewing a shortlist every morning. Readers now get deals they cannot find anywhere else.

Next, the system will cover more departure cities across Europe and add hotel deals, so the newsletter can offer complete trips with flight and stay found automatically. Personal deal alerts based on each subscriber's preferences are being explored as well.
